Valentine's day

LM: Mom, what is Valentine's day?

Me: It is a day where you can show and tell people that you love them.

LM: Do you give presents to them?

Me: Sometimes

LM: Mom, don't listen; I have to talk to Dad.
(whispering to Bill) Dad, let's get mom a necklace for Valentine's day because we love her.

A few weeks later

Me: We need to get you a shoebox for your Valentine's day box.

LM: What is it for?

Me: You can give notes to people you like/love. You tell them that you love them.

LM: Mom, I really love you. But I will get you a present. And if you don't like someone then you don't get them a present. (very matter of fact)
