hmmm...

I passed a homeless man on the street while driving today. Whenever I have food in the car, I always offer something (even if it is just in a baggie-I figure something is better than nothing). I prefer food to money because it guarantees they can't do something sketchy with it. Today I had just bought a box of saltine crackers for my tomato soup. I obviously couldn't give the whole box--how could I eat my tomato soup without them? I grabbed one of the sleeves and handed it to him. He seemed to appreciate it, but who knows. Right then a Toyota mini van (newer model) shows up with a pretty clean shaven, although slightly shady guy in the front. The homeless guy hops on in and drives away with him. Who knows what his back story is but I kind of doubt he is homeless. I had to laugh though--I bet he will really enjoy his sleeve of saltine crackers. Hope he has some tomato soup to go with them.

Ha! Abraham and I gave a guy a candy bar once when we lived in Utah (it sounds strange but it was all we had on us). We then watched him walk into the store to try to return it. I guess its the thought that counts :)
