He's a winner

My Gpa Garrett loves sugar, candy, frosting, anything super sweet. He seems to know of every depressing news story out there and loves to share those stories with everyone. But one of my favorite things about him is his love for needlepoint. Actually I'm not quite sure if that is the technical term, but whatever you call it he is super good at it. My grandparents house is filled to the brim with his artwork. I mean every single inch of wall space is covered with these things-at our last visit my mom decided to start counting, she got up to 17 with just the upstairs! And his artwork means blue ribbons at the State Fair every year for as long as I can remember. In fact this picture comes from his most recent in an e-mail my uncle sent. Under the picture was the caption when participants enter the artwork in the State Fair, it must be discouraging to know the best they can do is 2nd place. And it's true. Although my personal decorating style is not conducive to cross-stitch, I hope very much I will have one of these in my house someday.

That's amazing!! Usually I think of grandma when I think of needle point. Who knew grandpa could do something like that?

I know...my Grandma did a needlepoint (or is it a cross-stitch) for our wedding...it has our names and the date and a whole bunch of intricate detail...I'm sure you've seen it hanging in our house...or not.

Anyway, I think it's cool that your Grandpa does it...and it looks like he's amazing!

Josh and I just spent some time at the LA County Fair- it is amazing the talents that some people have! I never knew that about your grandpa - very cool. Love that picture of the three of you.
