Trip to Utah

Back in August, we took a trip to Utah for Bill's 1/2 Ironman. Of course, the bonus was we could visit a lot of our friends and family who live there. We left right after I finished working on Sunday. We drove through the night, which ended up working out perfectly with the little guy. Our first stop was Brigham City--I don't think we could have made it any further! I got to see one of my favorite cousins Corrin and hang out with her family. Then we made our way down to SLC and saw Bill's extended family. We got to stay at his cousin's beautiful home. It was fun for LM to get to know some of his second cousins. The highlight of the trip was Bill's race. He ended up a great time and finishing in the top third. It was his first 1/2 Ironman, so he was pretty happy. It was an interesting experience for me as well. I have been too a lot of little races, but never one with people quite as serious as this. I was completely intimidated by the racers. I knew it was a difficult thing to do, but I didn't realize how in shape these people were! Anyway, it was a great family trip.
